Schroders’ emerging-market bond strategy comes to Solana
Centrifuge announced a tokenised product linked to Schroders’ Emerging Market Bond fund on 4 November. It marks Schroders’ first deployment on Solana and expands the network’s fund offerings beyond cash-like assets.
The underlying strategy invests in emerging-market debt. Schroders manages the investments while Centrifuge supplies tokenisation infrastructure. Moving the fund exposure onto a blockchain changes how it can be held and distributed; it does not turn the underlying bonds into a stablecoin.
CoinDesk reports that investors hold tokenised shares in a feeder fund, which invests in the underlying Schroders fund. That legal layer matters: the token is not a direct holding of every bond in the portfolio, nor is it a share in Schroders itself.
The launch adds a different type of investment exposure to onchain markets. Returns remain linked to the underlying strategy, including borrower and market risks. Public-blockchain issuance also should not be read as confirmation that every wallet holder is eligible to subscribe; access depends on the product’s terms.
The bonds have acquired a new address. Their borrowers have not acquired a magic money tree.
