Aztec’s Tierra upgrade fixes earlier issues and speeds private transactions
Aztec announced Tierra, its Alpha V6 release, on 3 November. The Ethereum privacy network reports fixes for earlier vulnerabilities and faster proof generation, while its status page continues to label the network alpha.
The project says the upgrade resolves the critical proving-system issue identified in V5. It also describes additional security testing and formal verification work. Those are reported improvements, rather than a guarantee that further issues cannot emerge.
Aztec puts native-device proof generation at about one second, roughly twice as fast as before. It says Ethereum-to-Aztec message delivery can fall to as little as 12 seconds from an earlier average of two minutes. A best-case figure should not be read as a promise for every deposit.
For users and developers, the version matters as much as the new name. The network-status page distinguishes Tierra from older releases and retains the alpha designation. Faster private applications remain something to assess alongside the maturity of the system supporting them.
Privacy is arriving faster. I shall continue closing the bathroom door at the traditional speed.
