Aave freezes one tBTC lane while the exits stay open.

After Threshold paused tBTC minting and redemption on 31 October, Aave's risk team froze tBTC on the Ethereum Core market. The measure stops new deposits and prevents tBTC adding borrowing power; repayments, withdrawals and liquidations continue.
Aave says the freeze was proposed as a precaution and executed at 10:01 UTC on 31 October. It applies only to the tBTC reserve on Ethereum Core. The Base and Arbitrum reserves had already been frozen through earlier asset-deprecation work, and no other Aave reserve or market was paused by this action.
Existing positions keep the same liquidation threshold, so the freeze itself does not make a position liquidatable. Users can still repay debt, withdraw available funds and add other collateral. The practical restriction is on growing Aave's exposure to tBTC while its underlying mint-and-redeem process is paused.
Aave's risk team says it is monitoring Threshold's updates, tBTC positions and secondary-market liquidity. Restorative measures require further assurance that tBTC operations have returned to normal. The post does not provide a restart time, so users should treat the restriction as open-ended until an explicit update appears.
One diving board is shut; the exit is still open. A surprisingly useful sign, once everyone stops shouting that the entire pool has frozen.
