Kraken restricts accounts linked to suspected European theft
Kraken told Cointelegraph it has restricted accounts connected to a suspected theft from an unidentified European entity. Investigator ZachXBT’s reported estimate has risen above $133 million; the victim’s identity remains unverified.
The exchange said the incident began elsewhere and that it was working with law enforcement. It also said its own security systems and customer accounts had not been compromised. Those statements concern the origin of the incident, not a declaration that every associated asset has been recovered.
Crypto.com separately said it had acted to block associated funds moving through its platform. OKX told the publication it was looking into the matter. These are company responses reported on 3 November, alongside an investigation that remains incomplete.
The useful distinction is between identifying a route through an exchange and establishing that the exchange itself was breached. The available reporting does not justify naming an unconfirmed victim or treating allegations of concealment as fact.
