Binance reports progress, Iron Fish ends support, and Bitcoin's paper turns 18.
Tonight we separate replaced reserves from working withdrawals, a code fix from a repaired chain, and the Bitcoin paper's birthday from the network's launch. Three milestones; three reasons to read the detail.

Celebrate the birthday. Check the recovery claims. Do not mistake a future repair for a finished one. The crown will issue no certificates based on the size of the announcement.
Binance's 31 October recovery update says it has replenished 90% of the assets stolen in the recent attack, up from 80%. It still targets reopening withdrawals on 1 November. These are the exchange's statements, not independent confirmation that normal service has returned.
Iron Fish has announced the end of its remaining network support after an inflation-bug investigation. Its published technical findings make an important distinction: the released fix is intended for a new chain, not a compatible upgrade to the existing mainnet's history.
Anniversary feature: on 31 October 2008, Satoshi Nakamoto sent the Bitcoin paper to a cryptography mailing list. Eighteen years later, the original nine-page document is still available to read. Today's milestone belongs to the paper, not the network's launch.
