OnePay’s new USDC deposits arrive as dollars in checking accounts
OnePay’s 30 October announcement lets selected US customers fund checking accounts with USDC across 12 supported blockchains. Coverage this week has renewed attention to the feature, which converts incoming tokens into dollars.
Customers receive a deposit address through OnePay’s app and send USDC from an outside wallet or exchange over a supported network. The launch includes Ethereum, Solana, Base and Tempo. The resulting balance is ordinary US dollars within OnePay Checking; there is no separate stablecoin balance to manage.
Stripe-owned Bridge supplies the deposit-address infrastructure, checks incoming transfers and handles conversion. OnePay says deposits usually arrive quickly, while acknowledging that network conditions and compliance checks can make some take longer.
OnePay charges no service fee for the launch feature, but blockchain network fees can still apply. The value credited depends on the stablecoin’s conversion value. This is an account-funding option with eligibility and network requirements, not a promise that every token or transfer route will work.
The money has travelled across a blockchain and arrived ready to pay the gas bill. A disappointingly practical adventure.
