Crypto.com sets a February exit for its Hong Kong consumer app
Crypto.com says its consumer app will stop serving Hong Kong users on 1 February 2027. The company told Bloomberg on 2 November that affected customers had been notified and would receive account-closing and withdrawal instructions.
The company described the decision as a reallocation of resources. Its application for an institutional exchange licence through Foris DAX HK continues, according to the same report. Retail app access and an institutional licensing application are separate matters; the latter does not establish continued service for existing app users.
Customers should use the notice inside their own account and official support for the applicable steps. Crypto.com’s general withdrawal guidance says sending crypto to an external wallet or exchange involves a blockchain transaction and a fee. The app’s Fees & Limits section gives the relevant charge. That guidance is background, not a replacement for the Hong Kong closure instructions.
The announced date is in February, not an immediate shutdown today. We have not verified individual customer notices or account-specific deadlines. The distinction matters when a headline about an exit arrives before the practical instructions for moving a balance.
The retail door has a closing date. The institutional door is still waiting for its key.
