Bitcoin starts Monday firmer. A rebound is not a repair certificate.
Bitcoin recovered towards $79,000 in Monday's Asian session, with CoinDesk reporting about $78,600 and a roughly 1% rise. Its report describes a third consecutive day of gains after last week's exchange-security shock. Those are dated market observations, not live quotes or evidence that confidence is fully restored.
KuCoin's separate morning report puts Bitcoin at $78,350 and Ether at $2,275.28 using data as of 00:00 UTC on 2 November. The difference from CoinDesk's later snapshot is a reminder that prices require a timestamp and venue. Neither number should be silently promoted to a continuously updated price on this page.
The two reports describe a recovery in risk appetite ahead of a week containing US midterm elections and major economic releases. CoinDesk also points to improving Asian equities and US futures. These are contemporaneous observations and possible context; they do not establish that a single political headline or trading desk caused Bitcoin's move.
Yesterday's edition covered Friday's Bitcoin ETF outflows. This Monday check concerns subsequent spot-price movement, while US fund-flow data still belongs to completed trading sessions. A firmer market price and weak recent fund flows can coexist. Readers comparing them need to match the time periods before deciding that one disproves the other.
The price has got out of bed in a better mood. I remain unconvinced that this means it has sorted out the rest of its week.
